Sometimes saying goodbye is hard to do—especially with children involved. My children’s nanny is moving away to volunteer for 18 months as a missionary for the church that we belong to, and with that transition, my children have to say goodbye.
Of course my son Remington’s first reaction was excitement because it meant that Mommy was finally taking a break from the working world to stay home full time. But as the departure of our nanny grew closer, he started to get sad. So to counteract that sadness we decided to make his nanny a card and a swatchbook.
Above is Remington’s card that he created using Stampin’ Up! traditional products. He had a fun time making the card and sitting in the craft room with Mom while I made a swatchbook. I used the Twitterpated Swatchbook Designer Template (AU/NZ) and filled in some recent pictures of my kids.
Above is a picture of the finished swatchbook that we gave to the nanny. It is small enough that it won’t take up too much room in her luggage and durable with the plastic covers that will last.
If you have someone you love moving away soon, think about making a swatchbook for them so that they can always have you with them!
