October, November, and December are the busiest months in the kitchen at my house. So, when I was asked to create a recipe book cover and spread for our new board books, I was excited to see what I could come up with! First, I decided to see if there were any quotes I could use. I found a quotation by Paula Deen that I thought was perfect to go on the cover of a recipe book: “Cooking has always brought me a happiness that I didn’t think was available. I just fire up the stove and things start to fade away.”

Once I was done designing, I was in love with it. (I’m planning to have it in my kitchen in the very near future.) I was excited to learn that we also decided to make it into a designer template!

I can’t wait to download this Compilation of Recipes Designer Template for myself! Finally, I have an opportunity to do something with the stack of loose recipes I have been collecting over the years (not to mention all the recipes sitting in my e-mail). Christmas presents for my sisters, sisters-in-law, mother, and mother-in-law . . . check, check, check, and check!

I hope you all enjoy this 32-page board book designer template as much as I know I will! Be sure to check out the other downloads released today for more gifting and holiday goodness!

I am having trouble editing my page numbers.  I have tried unlocking the page objects and I still cannot edit the page numbers in the Table of Contents.  Can you please assist me on this?

It is possible. You just won't use the template, but you can use all of the elements.

Is it possible to use this digital download in any other format other than the 8X8 board book.  I need to create a recipe book for my daughter's grade 1 cooking class (26 copies) .  This will include our cooking projects and photos throughout the year - likley 10 recipies. It has alot of elements that would make this project come together nicely but I woulds like to print of 8.5 x11 sheets and put it in a doutang for the kids.  What do you think? Will this lend itself to that?  I appreciate your feedback.

Can you add pages to the board book or is 32 pages the maximum number you can print?

I'm going to have my recipes printed in a board book.  When creating the project, I noticed it's taking a long time to save things.  Can I delete the pages I'm not using right now, and add them as I add recipes?  Also, is the board book a certain number of pages?

I would like to use this template, but create it as a Calendar--easel format.  Is that possible?

Thanks very much. I did run the initial update and thought I was up to date with the updates. Looks like I am running 1.0.7.772. Off to download that recent update!! Fingers crossed. I consider myself tech savvy....still have much to learn!! :)

Lyza you'll need to update your software for sure -- this was a new addition to the software within the past month or or so.

When you open My Digital Studio and go to Help> About My Digital Studio you should be running 1.0.8.800.

If you never ran the initial update, checking for updates in your software won't help, you'll have to do that initial update first.

Here on MDS.net, go to Resources> Updates.

This will explain how to update your software if you never ran the initial one. If you already ran the initial one, you can update it right in MDS, or manually at the same location above.
