Print Product Update (US and CAN only)

Print Product Availability

We spent the better portion of the day yesterday with our print vendor, answering more questions and reviewing follow-up items from our meeting last Friday. We still cannot provide an exact date for when print product ordering will be available again, but we are working through the final details now and hope to be able to provide a date soon.

We appreciate your continued patience as we work through this difficult transition. As always, please feel free to post any comments and questions here on MyDigitalStudio.net.

I have been trying to print a swatchbook for days and can't get past the "contacting the digital print service" step.  Anyone else having this difficulty or have any suggestions for me?  I reside in Calgary and would be attempting to print through Canadian print services.

Is there going to be any sort of update available soon? It has been 2 weeks since the last update. I am curious if there is, perhaps, an alternate, temporary printer that MDS could use during this "discussion time" with your current vendor? Perhaps a past vendor? Something to ease the frustration and let people continue with their businesses and projects.

Please continue to support MDS!  There is a need and market for this product.  Keri Mason is spot on!  And I so hope that Sue Parker is correct.  I am so excited about the digital Project Life offering and have a vacation photo book underway.  This book needs to be printed this month.  Will there be a resolution in July?

Thanks!  That's what I get for not checking this site on a regular basis.  :o(

Melissa, Were just the demonstrators told, or was the info put out for customers?  Just curious.  I am not a demonstrator, but LOVE SU! products!  I'd love to wait for the ability to print through SU!, however, the family I babysat for, for 2 years, is moving at the end of this month.  I've been looking into other options, and have exported as jpeg before.  Unfortunately, I created an 8.5x11 portrait book, and cannot find an easy option for printing.  If I have time tonight, I may try converting the project to a 12x12, as converting to an 8.5x11 landscape did not work at all!!   If I don't have time tonight, I may just have to wait, and mail the book to the family at a late date.

well said Sue Parker...well said! Your positive outlook is exactly what I needed this am!. Laura Donze, they did warn us of this and even though I new of the upcoming end to printing May 31, I STILL did NOT get all my printing done. Boo for me! I'm patiently waiting as are all my customers so far. None of us had deadlines that can't be pushed, so far....however, if you do, export your project to a jpeg and you can print anywhere your little heart desires! My customers and I just know the quality is there with SU! and so we are  choosing to wait.

Was any kind of announcement made about this??  This is the first I've heard about changes with printing services.  I'm just curious if I missed something somewhere, and a bit disappointed, as I've spent 3 days creating a photo book for a going away present, and now, have no idea how to go about getting it printed.

In my opinion, I think Stampin' Up! is very much interested in supporting MDS. I read between the lines like this...I am guessing that they decided to switch print vendors to improve the quality and options for us.  They have digitized the brand new Project Life materials, which will be very popular with digital scrapbookers. I think the print issues caught everyone completely off guard, but I would rather them work out the issues than have us be disappointed in the quality of our printed project. Don't get me wrong, I am completely disappointed that I haven't been able to print with them.  I had to go elsewhere to print 150 card fronts for convention swapping.  I've been a total fan of SU printing and the substitute was decent enough but I would have preferred to print with SU. On the plus side, I have learned about economical alternatives for printing that I never would have looked into had I not been desperate, lol.  I was concerned when SU stopped offering new downloads every Tuesday and offer new ones once a month only.  I wrote to them and expressed my wishes that they please offer a good selection of current/new products so that we can coordinate with physical products in the catalog.  The only way they know is if we let them know our feelings.  In June I wrote and asked that they consider adding some of the new DSP to the digital products and in July, the new Flowerpot paper was added along with the brand new Flower Patch stamp set.  I like to think they read my email and did that for me, lol!!!  And I bought everything they offered in July.  That probably speaks louder than an email, right? So anyway, these are just my thoughts and I'm hoping Home Office folks talk a bit about MDS next week at Convention.
