Thank you for your comments that have been shared on our blog and Facebook. The price change has certainly generated a lot of discussion. Here is some additional background that may help you understand the change. Since the launch of My Digital Studio, we have been making improvements on our end, and our demonstrators have done a great job selling and promoting My Digital Studio on their end. We have been working with our vendor regarding pricing, and now that we have reached higher quantities, our vendor has reduced the cost of the product. We, in turn, are passing that savings along to you immediately. You may remember that we went through a similar process last fall, and were able to pass some savings along to you then in regards to print product pricing. We are thrilled that the populartiy of My Digital Studio continues to increase and are committed to the success of this product line.

Comment by Kimberley Morris on March 26, 2013 at 3:13pm That's GREAT to hear, Diane! Isn't the customer service at Stampin' Up! the best?!? Now, I hope you will share some fun stuff with us that you create with your FREE downloads ;-)
Comment by Diane Burns on March 26, 2013 at 1:56pm Kimberley - Thanks for the information regarding the downloadable freebies for MDS. I contacted customer support and they made sure that I received them, even putting them on my account while I was on the stampin up website. Your help was appreciated.
Comment by Kimberley Morris on March 26, 2013 at 12:29pm Yep, that's exactly what I'm thinking about doing, Heather...except I'll probably just copy my current content over to a backup drive. I always download all my MDS files immediately, and I have them all backed up, too--then I have those executables for "reinstall", just in case! But it's so much faster just to copy the content from the folders if you already have it installed.
Comment by Heather Johannessen on March 26, 2013 at 12:19pm Here's what I did... sort of a big rigamarole but I wanted to make sure I kept the old and new content. I upgraded the MDS2 I was using to the new and "improved" MDS (haven't noticed the improvements yet but they say they're there). However, I then paid the $20 for the new MDS (which was the MDS2+) to get the content, which I didn't have much of so for me it was well worth the $20. I had that download into a different folder on my computer and transfer the new content to my established MDS program. I know it's convoluted but I wanted to MAKE SURE I didn't lose any content. I have done things one too many times (with other programs) that caused me to lose content. It was highly annoying and I didn't want to lose content so it was worth it. When all I was done -- all content moved, I just deleted my second copy of the new MDS. See, I told you it was convoluted. :)
Comment by Kimberley Morris on March 26, 2013 at 11:36am Awesome, thanks for sharing, Linda :-) Thinking about it more now, I don't know that I really even need to get the MDS2+ software at all, since I think I have all the content through individual downloads. There are several downloads I have which came in the original MDS, and as free promotional downloads a while back, in the PNG format. MDS2+ would allow me to get those in SVG format. So, I think I just need to look and see what the cost of individual downloads of those items might be, versus the low, low $19.95 of MDS2+. Good to know I have options :-)
It might also be worth it for me to just copy all my content folders, and reinstall everything from scratch with MDS2+, to get rid of the convolution on my hard drive that came with the MDS2 upgrade. I have a HUGE weird "junk" file that is 6.5GB in the My Digital Studio program file directory as a result of the upgrade, and I'm not lovin' on that.
Comment by Lynda Glassmoyer on March 26, 2013 at 8:55am Kimberly Morris: I, too, was successful in going from MDS1 to MDS2 (upgrade only) to MDS2+......... each one installing over the previous one in succession.
Comment by Kimberley Morris on March 25, 2013 at 2:49pm Hey Diane--I would call customer service at 1-800-STAMP-UP and ask them why those free downloads are not on your account...looks like they should have been there by March 20th...? I believe if you are a customer you just log into your online store account, and then click on My Account, and then click on the Downloads tab, and you should see them there. You may need to page through those downloads if you don't see them on the first screen.
Comment by Diane Burns on March 25, 2013 at 1:48pm Thank you Kimberly for the comment. I went onto the stampin up website and went to my account to see my downloads. None of the freebies you mentioned were there to download. Am I looking in the right place for the downloads? Thanks for you help.
Comment by Kimberley Morris on March 25, 2013 at 10:43am Okay, thanks Chelly, that's what I wanted to hear--those tips and heads-up issues can *really* save the rest of us a lot of time and trouble :-) I also installed the MDS2 upgrade right over the top of the original with no problems, I just wanted to be prepared in case MDS2+ was any different. I appreciate your sharing!
Comment by Chelly Schultz on March 25, 2013 at 10:29am Kimberly, I started with the original program, then downloaded and installed MDS2 right over the top, no problems. then installed MDS2+ right over the top of that, with no problems. Some people have had problems, so I would recommend doing it during business hours so that you can call customer service, and they can help you with any problems that you encounter. Many of the problems seemed to occur when the program wasn't installed on top of the earlier program or if the antivirus was causing a problem. Speaking of the anti-virus, I had to make adjustments to mine because it wanted to scan the entire program before it would open it each and every time.
