Dave Makes a CASE for MDS 2

A few weeks ago, my wife Jennifer and I celebrated our 20^thanniversary. Leading up to the date, I knew that I wanted to make Jennifer a card for our anniversary. I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to try MDS 2 for the first time.

Since I’m not the most seasoned crafter, I implemented the “CASE” method to make a great card that my wife would love. I began by looking through the annual catalog at the card samples to find one I liked. I landed on the card on page 133.

I really liked the design and color scheme—so much so that I used the same color scheme to keep it nice and simple for my first attempt in MDS 2. However, I still wanted to give the card my own personal touch. I liked the design of the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set from the sample, but I needed the flexibility of more words. That gave me an idea. I found a similar font (Bella Donna), and then I decided upon a number of words that best described Jennifer. I used that same font for the inside of the card to say “Happy Anniversary.”

One of the things that I liked most about designing the card was the flexibility to find embellishments that were similar to the card design, and then having the versatility to recolor to maintain the design that I liked from the sample that I was casing.

It was a fun experience to create the card, and best of all, Jennifer loved it!
