Organizing blogs and websites are some of my favorite things to check in with—which might lead you to believe that I'm the supremely-organized type. However, I tend to read organizing blogs much the same way I read cookbooks—more like novels than things that I could actually implement in my life.
There are always great organizing systems, and often printables that are available for a vast array of organizing needs, but these are frequently not available in the colors I like, or personalized to the extent that I want them to be.
My Digital Studio is the perfect solution. With my girls in the early weeks of the new school year here in Australia, different uniforms required for different days, and library books that have to be checked in/out with a library bag, I figured it would be a good time to have them take care of their responsibilities on different days, without a mad flurry of activity each morning as we figure out what needs to be packed that day.
Enter our new week day schedule—personalised with names, favorite colors, and individual activities for both the school day and extracurricular activities.
The new My Digital Class Any Year Calendar Template provided the very cool (and currently trendy!) geometric background stamp and days of the week stamp.
The letter stamps are actually only an outline, but I added a freeform layer under each one and roughly colored them in because I wanted more color to show that just the outline of the letters.
I sized it to fit onto an A4 sheet of paper, and once printed, popped it into the relevant size of frame.
For the little activity discs, I filled a circle punch in MDS with the colors to match the participants—solid color with a white outline for in-school activities and white with a colored border for after school activities.
I printed these on white copy paper, ran them through my laminator so they'd last a bit longer, then cut them out with the 1" Circle Framelit from the Circles Collection Framelits.
These attach to the glass of the frame with a little dot of tacky strip on the back, so they're easily removable if the activities change days and won't leave a mess on the glass.
I love how it looks and hope it will become the first port-of-call for my girls when they want to know if it's sneakers or sandals day, and if their library bag needs unearthing for that particular day.
How can you see MDS helping with your organizing needs?
