I’m trying so hard to get organized for 2014--getting my scrapbooks caught up, working on lesson plans, and creating cards to build up my stash for the New Year. It’s so much easier for me to get cards out when I have them ready to go. Here are a few I’ve been working on this week!

Card #1 – Hi Digital Card

I have so many friends who live far away and I don’t get to see very often, and although the internet is so handy, nothing says “I’m thinking of you” better than a REAL card with an actual envelope and stamp on it. I love general cards--they can be used for just about anything. And if I’m in a bind, the “hi” sentiment on the front of this card is small enough that I could just pop a punched “Happy birthday” (or whatever!) over it if needed.

On the inside of the card I carried one of the banners from the front over and left plenty of room for a little (or not so little!) note.

Card #2 – Mr. & Mrs. Hybrid Card

I love making hybrid cards. As much as I love digital, I’ll never be 100-percent digital. That’s why hybrid cards are my favorite--I get the best of both worlds! I made this card for my cousin’s wedding this fall and am putting more together for my stash.

I designed the digital background on a 12" x 12" sheet and fit 12 of them on one page. Then I printed it out through MDS print service and cut them up when they arrived. Then I used my sewing machine to sew the tag onto the card. The Mr. & Mrs. is stamped on Stampin’ Up!’s White Vellum Cardstock, punched out, and popped up in the middle with a Stampin’ Dimensional. The ribbon was gathered on the bottom and sewn on with my sewing machine as well.

Card #3 – Thanks Digital Card

As a teacher I am always in need of thank-you notes to stick in kids’ backpacks for their amazing parents who help with book fairs, help with fundraising efforts, or donate much-needed supplies or gifts. For 2014 I wanted to make some quick and easy postcards. I used the Back to School Digital Ensemble, which was perfect for this project! On the front I added the taped chalkboard embellishment and a picture of our school/church.

Then on the back I left the blue paper area so I could write a personalized note and sign my name to it. I’m thinking these might also be a great gift for my fellow teachers! :)

great ideas...I agree about hybrid cards....I make 12 images on a page - punch or cut them out and make a quick, cute card. Thanks for sharing.
