With my baby’s first birthday approaching I was looking for the perfect party theme. I wanted to do something cute and above all—easy! I decided a circus theme would be fun and I could get away with serving hotdogs, popcorn, peanuts . . . nothing elaborate or difficult to make.

Then, I remembered the Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper from a few years ago, so I searched my craft room only to find that I had none. Luckily for me, digital downloads never expire so I was able to get the Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper (EU, SP) and the embellishments (EU, SP).

I wanted to keep things simple, so I created a postcard style invitation that I could print four on a sheet.  This is where creating the invitation in MDS really paid off—create once and print as many as you want!

I designed a custom banner to hang above the food table as my main décor (remember, I was trying to keep things simple) complete with his name using a circus font. I made a super simple banner to hang on his food tray.

The strong man image from the embellishments worked perfectly for the tag on the circus peanut favors which I placed on the food table to help with décor. I used the Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper (traditional product) and my Simply Scored to create collars to dress up the clown toppers I purchased. Even with keeping things simple, everything turned out cute with a few personal touches.
