When I got an e-mail asking if I would like to be a guest blogger for My Digital Studio, I was THRILLED! I love My Digital Studio, and I use it all the time! I said yes right away! This was on November 18. I needed to send my blog post by December 30--not a problem!

I tried a few times to work on them during all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, but it was hard. I wanted something big and spectacular, a new twist on a technique. Then I remembered one of the best things about MDS: the simplicity of it! It is so easy to use and to get great results. There are always great new items in the weekly downloads and the Stampin’ Up! colors are so easy to mix and match.

I took a deep breath and started from scratch. I loved the Endless Wishes Stamp Brush Set. The hand-drawn look of the snowflakes was perfect for a page with my little 4 year old. I wanted to use nontraditional winter colors and something bright. I clicked on Bermuda Bay in the color palette and asked MDS to give me a selection of combos. Did you know we could do that? I love this feature. The colors that came up were perfect: Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Pool Party, and Soft Suede. I hope you like the page I created!

Next I made a quick invitation for the children in Jillian’s class to get together over the winter break. Keeping things simple, I decided to go with a postcard. I needed them ASAP and printed them at home on Whisper White Cardstock. The back has a flurry of snowflakes; the front contains the information for the get together.

Here are the front and back of the invitation.

And here they are printed and ready to send to Jillian’s preschool friends! There are only six other children in class, which makes it easy to have these fun little play dates.

I hope you enjoyed my super simple projects. I love how quick and easy it is to make something fast with just a few downloads. I also love how great MDS is at making big, fun projects with loads of layers and tons of details, too! There truly is something for everyone!
