First day of JK

My middle son is off to Jr. Kindergarton today. I had such emotions of not wanting him to go, but alas we made it through and he did SO much better than I could have hoped :)

Paper - Tickets & tags 4 (the grid)
Embellishments: Staples, Cherry Cobbler Brad, Downtown Grunge frames
Square box: Marina Mist stripes

Griffin, I don't know if it had to do with school or just a weird sleep but he was wide awake at 4:30 am, came into our bed and snuggled with me and eventually fell asleep again. It took a lot of prodding but he woke up and came down for his breakfast (yogurt & peanut butter/honey english muffin). Soon he ate and he helped get himself dressed for school. Got his shoes on with some help from Daddy, with a big smile got his backpack on. Oh boy, this is really happening!! A few photos out front of our house and we were off! At school, Griffin was quiet. Looking around seeing other kids with their parents. His teacher, Mrs. Bondy, found us. Confirmed she was teacher I gave her bus information for Griffin (Landon will be Griff's bus buddy - Landon is THRILLED!). We waited by Griff's JK/SK door for his teacher to open it. He stood off to the side, a little shy and hesitant. Soon it was his turn to go in and he reached back and grabbed my hand to come too (my heart was tugging at me I wanted to go with him!). His teacher reassured him and told him we should go find his name to put his jacket at. And with that distraction, he was in...with no tears. Griffin has started school & a new journey.

*I'm going to do his height & weight tonight and add that to the journaling along with the date*

Thanks for the comments everyone :)  It was such a sad feeling day for me - luckily he only goes to school every other day and he's sitting beside me snuggling right now!  I have to make this into a double page layout because I have just as much (or more) journaling of him telling me all kinds of random info from his first day (I was typing notes on my laptop as he was telling me).  Its so funny.  SO I'll work on the next page today!

Barb, my 4 year old granddaughter starts preschool tomorrow and your page has inspired me how to do a page to document it!   Thanks for sharing your great work!

Great page Barb! Your boys are so lucky to have their childhood documented for them. I am sure they will appreciate it when they are grown!
